When will Sydney Zoo open?
We are scheduled to open in the second half of 2019 and are committed to delivering Australia’s most progressive zoo in the heart of Western Sydney. We know many of you would like to know the month we’ll be opening to plan events and visits, rest assured as soon as we can confirm this information we will!
Where is Sydney Zoo located?
We are located on the Great Western Highway at Bungarribee, near Eastern Creek.
How do I get to Sydney Zoo?
We will be accessible by car or public transport. We have excellent access to the M4 and M7 Motorways and will offer free on-site parking. More information on getting here will be available closer to our opening date.
What are your ticket prices?
We look forward to releasing this information soon, stay tuned.
What animals will we be able to visit at Sydney Zoo?
We’ll be home to a range of exotic and Australian species. Once our animals plans are confirmed we’ll share more details.

How do I get a job at Sydney Zoo?
We’re so excited to see so many people interested in working at our zoo! The best way to get a job is by checking our careers page and applying directly for any available positions. With so much interest, unfortunately we cannot accept job applications via email or social media messages for roles that aren’t currently advertised.

Will Sydney Zoo offer volunteer and work placement opportunities?
We will offer a range of positions, both skilled and unskilled. We will be looking to put on volunteer and work placement opportunities sometime after opening in the second half of the year. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and the careers page on our website for more information.
What course/s should I study if I want to work as a Zoo Keeper at Sydney Zoo?
The minimum requirement to work with our animals is Certificate III in Captive Animals. From there, you can go on to complete higher certificates or a university degree in Zoology or Animal Science.
